Ariel Ramirez was born in Altos de Chipion (Cordoba, Argentina), in the family of artists and musicians.
When he was 10, he started to learn to play a bandoneon.
At the age of 12 he started to perform as a musician and a dancer at the folklore festivals in Argentina.
At the age of 20 his talent was appreciated and awarded in the numerous festivals of folklore in Argentina and other countries of Latin America.
On those tours he also discovered his vocation as a tango dancer. Over the years he met his maestro of tango Humberto Pouchulu (El Puchu) who taught him the traditional tango based on the Aesthetics and Logic of Movements.

In 2002, he moved to the province of Catamarca, where he played with the famous musicians (EMILIO MORLES, ALICO ESPILOSIN, LOS DE CATAMARCA) in various concert tours taking place in Chile, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Uruguay and Venezuela.

In 2004, he was invited to join an excellent violinist, NESTOR GARNICA’s group with whom he played concerts till 2007.

In 2007, he moved to Santiago del Estero, where he joined a famous Argentine group LOS CARABAJAL with whom he played until the mid of 2008.

In 2008-2010, he dedicated himself to the musical studies with a well-known professor and composer, ORLANDO GEREZ, as well as with a famous bandoneon player and composer, JUAN CARLOS MARIN (who is a disciple of an excellent and famous bandoneon player, DINO SALUZZI).

In 2009-2010, he was invited to cooperate with a recognized vocalist, MARCELO TOLEDO.

In 2009, he was invited to accompany a prestigious ballet group BALLET JORGE NEWBERY under the supervision of JUAN CARLOS ROLDAN as a musical director for the concert tours in Cochabamba in Bolivia. 

In 2009, he participated in the Folk Culture Diversity Festival in Venezuela (FESTIVAL DE LA DIVERSIDAD CULTURAL CIOFF VENEZUELA), in the states of Zulia, Carabobo, Anzoategui and Bolivar, gaining the recognition of MARIA FERNANDA GRISEL, head of CIOFF VENEZUELA. 

In 2010, he started his own musical group LA CLAVE TANGO (and becomes its musical director). The group interpreted themes of the Argentinian folklore and tango. It was formed by the outstanding guitarists CARLOS ARREGUEZ and ALBERTO BARRIONUEVO and Ariel Ramirez playing bandoneon. 

In 2010, he also ran the music workshops at the universities and musical schools in Argentina in the class of bandoneon.

Ariel Ramirez also accompanied such famous musicians as: VITILLO ABALOS with the group LOS HERMANOS ABALOS during the tour in Santiago del Estero; an excellent guitarist MIGUEL SIMON(H).

Ariel Ramirez also recorded with many famous artists from Argentina, like LOS CARABAJAL, NESTOR GARNICA, JUAN CARLOS CARABAJAL, MARCELO MITRE, CHINGOLO SUÁREZ, EDUARDO MIZOGUCHI, MARCELO TOLEDO, and etc.

In 2010, he was invited to come to Europe for a concert tour of the tango music in Wrocław (Poland).

In 2010 in Europe, he recorded his first album called “AIRES” (© Iberia Records). The album was recorded in Wroclaw in collaboration with the excellent musicians: JOÃO DE SOUSA (vocalist), DAREK SAMERDAK (piano), DOMINICA BIAłOSTOCKA (guitar). The album consists of a compilation of his own interpretations and arrangements of the greatest hits of the traditional Argentinian tango. In addition to the songs, like Dos
Gardenias (music: Isolina Carrillo), Libertango (music by Astor Piazzolla) or Me Saqua A lap (music: Cacho Castaña), the album also contains his own composition called “WROCLAW GRIS (AUTUMN)”, which was created in the course of the recordings of the album.

In addition to the album related musicians set, he incorporated two more talented musicians to perform with: MARCIN SPERA (contrabassist) and the MARLENA GRODZICKA(virtuoso violinist and viola in Europe). With this set of musicians he performed in the concert tours in Italy, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and etc.

In 2010, he accompanied a Cuban vocalist EL MUSO (member of the famous group BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB) as a guest performer in his Polish tour, performing traditional Cuban music.

In 2011, he had a concert tour in Argentina, during which he performed Argentinian tango and folklore in different provinces of Argentina with the vocalist and guitarist IVAN “PEQUE” BONARDI and virtuoso guitarist RAUL HEREDIA.
In 2011, upon his return from Argentina to Europe, he created the musical and artistic play “CABARET LA BOCA”, a dance and music show that takes an audience to learn about the history of tango in Buenos Aires in the 1920s and 1930s. The performance was graced by an audiovisual show directed by WOJCIECH POPKIEWICZ, a well-known Polish documentary and traveler, and JERZY SZOTA. The artistic part was performed by the talented dancers: KATARZYNA PRESS and IRENEUSZ MICHALEWICZ, AGATA and TOMASZ KOZłOWSKI, as well
as ELŻBIETA JANKOWSKA and KRZYSZTOF PERDEK. The premiere, staged in Wrocław in the Puppet Theater, was performed during the award ceremony “Wroclaw Ambassador” with the sponsorship of “Gazeta Wyborcza”. The play “Cabaret la Boca” was later presented in other cities in Poland, such as Brzeg, Swidnica, and
etc.

In 2011, in Europe he performed in the prestigious festivals of folklore, classical music as well as ethnic music, in the concert halls, theaters and cultural centers.

In the mean time, Iberia Records released the album “ETHNO FAZA – WORLD
MUSIC” in which there was a song “Wroclaw Gris (autumn)” composed and performed by Ariel Ramirez and his group. 

In 2011, he also performed with the BALTIC SYMPHONY ORQUESTRA (Poland).

In 2012, he recorded the second album “NUEVOS AIRES” with his group. This recording includes another his own composition called “WROCłAW VERDE (SPRING)”. He also performed with his group in many prestigious concerts throughout Poland. At the same time, he worked on the video clip, Wrocław Verde
(Spring), together with the Wrocław City Hall to promote Wrocław city as the capital of European culture – 2016.

From 2013 onwards, he performs a big musical project “MISA CRIOLLA” with the talented group SIERRA MANTA and the professional choirs in Germany, Poland, and other countries in Europe.

In 2014, he created a new project called “ARIEL RAMIREZ LATINO”, consisting of Latin American music performed by five musicians and the choir of the University of Wroclaw (directed by ALAN URBANEK).

In 2015, in addition to the concerts, he worked on his third solo album as well as on his other two compositions dedicated to the 4 seasons of Wrocław.

In 2013-2017, in addition to the musical activities, he became known as an organizer of the cultural and gratis milongas (a place where people meet to dance tango), which was held in Dwor Polski, in the central location of Wrocław. These milongas became very popular in the city – were open to all who danced Argentine tango and who were interested in knowing the culture of Argentina.
In the meantime, Ariel Ramirez dedicated himself to the teaching of the dance of Tango Argentino at various dance schools.

In 2014-2017, to bring Argentine culture closer to the citizens of Wrocław, he organized tango events called “WROCłAW TANGO WEEKEND”, aimed at the tango dance workshops held by one of the best tango dancers and maestros in Buenos Aires JOH CABRERA (2014, 2015) and the great dancer and his tango teacher EL
PUCHU – HUMBERTO POUCHULU (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) who also performed in the concerts and seminars in Wroclaw, Poznan, Sandomierz, Krakow, and other cities.

In 2015-2017, Ariel Ramirez performed together with the talented guitarist DOMINIKA BIAłOSTOCKA – created a duet project consisting of a bandoneon and guitar, performing in a series of virtuoso concerts of folklore and Polish-Argentine tango.

From 2016 onwards, Ariel Ramirez also performs with the SOLO SET PROGRAM, where technology meets his live music, accompanied by the talented dancers. He played on the concert tours in Poland, Germany, Lithuania, and other countries in Europe.

From 2017 onwards, he conducts the ARIEL RAMIREZ TANGO ORCHESTRA group, consisting of a traditional Argentine tango orchestra instruments (Bandoneon, Piano, Violins, Viola, Cello and Contrabass) with the new generation of the talented musicians. The group is formed as septet, which is one of the most complete set as far as the sound of tango is concerned. The group performs at various tango festivals, concerts and other famous events. In addition to the concerts, the group works on a new album to record.

From 2018 onwards, Ariel Ramirez is a founding member of the “EL TANGO CLUB Espacio Cultural” (Kaunas, Lithuania) where he teaches tango and culture of Argentina, and organizes a broad range of cultural events.
As a member of AMBCTA (Association of Teachers, Dancers and Choreographers of Argentine Tango in Buenos Aires, Argentina), he contributes his knowledge in a teaching of what is true culture of Argentina and the dance of tango.
From 2019 onwards, Ariel Ramirez is one of the organizers as well as the founding member of the tango
festival “CINCO SENTIDOS” (Kaunas, Lithuania).
