Ariel Ramirez is a charismatic virtuoso bandoneonist, composer, recording artist, Argentine tango dancer and choreographer, whose passionate performances have captivated audiences across Latin America and Europe for over three decades. 

 

From the passionate Argentine Tango and the vibrant sounds of Latin American folklore to symphonic works and captivating performances of "Misa Criolla and “Navidad Nuestra”, composed by his relative, the renowned and beloved Argentine pianist and composer Ariel Ramírez (1921–2010), his repertoire showcases a mastery of diverse musical genres. He has not only preserved the traditions of these styles but has also pushed their boundaries through innovative projects, such as blending Argentine tango with chamber and symphonic orchestras or fusing choirs with Latin American rhythms.

Central to his projects is the Ariel Ramirez Tango Quintet, which is based in Europe. Modeled after Astor Piazzolla's iconic group, the quintet delivers what is undeniably one of the richest and most complete tango sounds available today, offering a truly immersive and captivating experience of the authentic tango music. 

​Known for his dedication to traditional Latin American music, he has collaborated for years with some of the finest choirs in Poland and Europe, performing Ariel Ramírez’s (1921–2010) works on prestigious international stages. These include the Białystok Chamber Choir "Cantica Cantamus", the Interuniversity Choir of Warsaw, the Kraków Philharmonic Choir, and the University of Wrocław Choir "Gaudium", among others. Under the direction of renowned conductors such as Miguel Ángel Monroy, Jan Łukaszewski, Janusz Dąbrowski, Alan Urbanek, Violetta Bielecka, and Teresa Maja, Ramírez has brought Ariel Ramírez’s compositions to new heights of vocal expression and artistic quality. These collaborations ensure that the works are delivered with the highest vocal and emotional standards, offering an enriching experience for every audience.

 

Born in Argentina into a family of artists, and carrying the name of his famous great-uncle, composer Ariel Ramirez, music is in his blood. Beginning his bandoneon studies at the age of ten, Ariel Ramirez quickly established himself as a prominent and awarded performer, as well as a music director of prestigious Ballet Jorge Newberry and his own bands, gracing stages across Latin America and Europe.

 

A celebrated performer has shared the stage with notable artists such as Nestor Garnica, Los Carabajal, Chaqueño Palavecino, Emilio Morales, Alico Espilosin, Los De Catamarca, Mario Alvarez Quiroga, Peteco Carabajal, Marcelo Toledo, Vitillo Abalos, Los Hermanos Abalos, Miguel Simon (H), Van “Peque” Bonardi, Raul Heredia, Baltic Symphony Orchestra, El Muso from Buena Vista Social Club, tango legend Roberto Siri, and even performed with the iconic bandoneon of tango legend Anibal Troilo. The performer has also had the honor of performing for Pope Francis.

 

His compositions were featured as part of the official cultural program of Wrocław (Poland) during its time as the European Capital of Culture, a testament to his artistic recognition. Furthermore, he is the creative force behind his tango musical, adding another dimension to his artistic achievements. 

 

His recordings, which often feature collaborations with famous European and Argentinian artists, are available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music, capturing the energy and passion of his live performances and allowing audiences worldwide to experience his musical brilliance firsthand. Some of his recordings were released through labels such as Iberia Records.

 

Ariel Ramirez is more than just a performer; he is a cultural ambassador, and an honored figure in the international tango community, serving as a jury board member for the World Tango Championship and a representative of the “Asociación de Maestros, Bailarines, Coreógrafos de Tango Argentino” (Buenos Aires, Argentina). His founding of a unique Argentine Tango Culture Museum and Argentine tango cultural center “EL TANGO CLUB Espacio Cultural” further demonstrates his unwavering commitment to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of Argentine tango.
